He’s always been a bit nuts, he told a tabloid that Merc was rebranding with Ineos for 700 million pounds and that Toto was leaving. Merc says it isn’t true haha. He’s either nuts or Merc is delaying the news or still working on a deal.

Both things are entirely plausible. There’s been rumors of Toto’s leaving for a long time. And Ineos is already on the car. If Eddie is right, it’s a hell of a scoop.
Also, Eddie has to make sure that he gets in the news from time to time.

Things that Eddie called while everyone else said he was nuts:
-Micheal Schumacher retirement
-Hamilton moving to Merc
-McLaren switching back to Mercedes engines
-McLaren ditching Honda
...Granted, he’s also claimed as far back as 2017 that Merc were pulling factory branding and selling to either the Petronas Group or something similar. COuld just be a continuation of that shit.

Also Totos contract is up so maybe he’s pushing for more money.

For sure it all makes sense if Mercedes is trying to change their structure and make some money. They did get a hell of a deal considering they succeeded . Typical F1, everything is denied until an announcement so I guess we will see what happens . Merc may say, oh that was great but after 2021 we will be an engine supplier and someone else will run the team.
